Back! (Sort Of)

Once upon a time there was an editor-in-chief of a major-minor horror film website who decided he needed a forum for his more generalized thoughts on film, much in the way of Sergio Leone’s Infield Fly Rule and Jim Emerson’s Scanners. He would publish semi-anonymously, so that the Blog wasn’t explicitly linked to his horror site, but any person with Google and thirty seconds to spare could make the connection.
He kept the blog fairly well-maintained for a while, writing a few pieces here and there that he was actually quite proud of. Eventually, however, his interest dropped a little and he wasn’t updating all that regularly.
Just as he resolved to pick up the blog again, disaster struck. The server on which he had both the blog and the horror site hosted crashed. While the editor was able to save the files of his sites, he was not able to save the databases. He was able to recreate the horror site from cached files on Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft Live, but the blog’s content had not been cached by these services. It was merely lost.
Now, over eight months later, the editor has decided to start again. This time however, he’s working with full disclosure (in a soon-to-be-written post) and regular database backups.
Hopefully this whole thing works out better the second time.
